TYPA linocut course in April 2023.
The course takes place four times on Wednesdays 05.04, 12.04, 19.04, 26.04 at 18:00-20:00.
Workshop lead: Charlotte Biszewski
Charlotte Biszewski has studied multidisciplinary graphics in Great Britain and defended her doctorate in digital and experimental graphics at the Academy of Arts in Wrocław. She was awarded a Grotowski scholarship for the best doctoral thesis. Charlotte has worked in Great Britain, Brazil, Poland, Norway and Estonia and is a member of the board of the non-profit organization TYPA.
This course is for people who wish to extend their knowledge of linocut – perhaps they have taken a course at TYPA and wish to develop their techniques. Participants should have an idea of what they want to achieve throughout the course and they’ll be encouraged to explore their own direction.
During the linocut course:
- You will receive a comprehensive introduction to linocut printing.
- You will learn to use a linocut knife, print colors and press, print in color on paper and fabric.
- You will learn about multi-color approaches such as reduced printing and multi-block printing.
- You will get practical knowledge for setting up a home studio (which tools are best for cutting linoleum, tool maintenance – sharpening, types of paper, etc.).
Price of the course: 70€ / *60€ for students
