As unbelievable as it is, it has already been 9 (nine!) Scrap Nights, each and every one different, but all equally joyful and inspiring — thanks to you! We have made SO many artworks, we collected SO many scraps (and ideas for using them!), but most importantly, we made friends along the way and started building a community. It’s time to celebrate all that!
For the 10th event, happening as part of the Aparaaditehase Festival, we prepared a whole day of scrap activities and we are counting on you to come and fill TYPA with your silly creative spirit! On the 30th of August, from 12pm-5pm.
What’s in the programme?
- Scrap Swap
Although first and foremost we are here for the process, every once in a while it’s nice to share the results, too. For the Swap, everybody is invited to bring their scrap artworks (not necessarily made in TYPA!), put them on a shared table and take somebody else’s piece in exchange. Don’t let your collages, zines, prints and notebooks rot in the drawer! You can attach a tag with your social media to them, and use our swap as a networking possibility, or you can remain anonymous. It is also fine to come browse through the artworks out of curiosity!
- Manifesto
Scrap Nights may seem lawless, but as we all know, there is at least one (1) rule, which is a good enough start! Together we will try to create a scrap manifesto in the form of a collaborative collage on a long paper roll. What are Scrap Nights for you? What’s the vibe? Let us know using words, pictures, colours or textures. Have fun and be yourself!
- Scrap Giveaway
Your creative powers are endless, but so is TYPA’s capacity of producing waste. We have more than enough scraps and will be happy to give them to you – bring folders to fill with illustrations, envelopes or jars for paper confetti, take our paper sheets and cardboard. Turn them into a paper pulp or organise your own scrap event (invite us??): the possibilities are endless and very silly!
4. Honorable Mention: Ruby’s Auction:
At 5 PM in the paper hall there will also be a charity auction, during which you will bid for tiny Ruby’s Gallery artworks. With each purchase comes a special, limited edition Ruby postcard, and all the profit will go to taking care of our museum cat – her medical check-ups and meds, food, toys, ect.
All activities will be happening in the paper hall (the usual Scrap Night’s place), from 12 AM to 5 PM. Entrance is free for everyone and there will be snacks!
