PRESSFEST programme would not be complete without TYPA’s most beloved event – the Scrap Night! So on August 29th we invite you for an evening full of paper scraps and free creative expression. This time we will start half an hour later than usual, so 18.00!

This time we will try cardboard printing – a method of creating a printmaking matrix by layering shapes cut out from paper and cardboard of different thicknesses and textures. The higher cardboard pieces will print darker while the lower ones will be more faded. The night will be full of experimenting as we will use various printing presses and inks to find the best printing method together!

The event is free of charge and no previous registration or experience is required. And, as always: have fun and be yourself!

Scrap Nights are suitable for all ages!

Scrap Nights are the TYPA teams voluntary project, carried out by TYPA’s education manager Karoliina, social media manager Heldin, residency coordinator Asia and our most hands-on volunteer Kärt. The idea of Scrap Nights was born in 2025. March, when we came up with the idea to start using the museum’s paper scraps in a creative way. Scrap Nights happen regularly, however when and what, we decide spontaneously — so make sure you keep an eye on our Instagram!
