You are all welcome to celebrate TYPA’s 12th birthday on Saturday, March 19th!
Instead of regular museum tour you can participate in cool activities:
12-15 there will be tetra pack printing with Sabrina Barbieri. Participants will learn skills in linear drawing and create their own intaglio print using drypoint needles on tetra packs. Working very small, participants will be able to transform any picture from their mobile phone into an intricate drawing and finally a beautiful print.
12-15 you can do creative felt canework with Udmurtian artist Zoja Lebedeva. Zoja calls herself an etnofuturist and a non-artist, so the workshop will be intriguing!
14-17 takes place Mart Anderson’s KIRJAK workshop, where you can learn to design and create a two-coloured typostencil. As a result, each participant creates unique typographic composition. For participating please register at mart@kirjak.info.
15-18 will our artist in residency Kristina Paabus do a fun workshop “Print Pals”. In this collaborative linocut workshop, participants are invited to print a TYPA birthday party friend to take home! Guests will be able to create their print pals from a selection of interchangeable linoleum characters or carve their own elements.
15:30 you can make origami with founder of the Paper Museum Anne Rudanovski. Don’t miss this opportunity as this world travelled paper artist does not do workshops every day!
In addition you can come and see the exhibition of old worn-out books, made by a founder of Printing Museum Madis Mikkor. As the old and shabby books can still be charming, you can come and vote for your favourite in the “shabby contest”.
We also remind you that there are no ordinary museum tours happening that day, but for the entrance ticket you can participate in as many workshops as you want.
Instead of birthday presents you are most welcome to donate to support Ukraine. You can donate in TYPA or make transfer to an organization you prefer (see from page https://www.ukrainaheaks.ee/en for example). In addition TYPA will donate all the ticket income from that day to Ukranian Cultural Centre.
And did we say that all 12-year-olds get a free access to museum this day! As TYPA will also be a 12-year old now!
See you soon!
