PRESSFESTEvent

Do you want to see the design you carved be printed with a city bus? Here is your chance!

In accordance with PRESSFEST’s main aim – bringing printmaking closer to people – we invite everyone to participate in creating a huge linocut that we are gonna print together in the city centre on the 28th of August!

How does it work?
From the 1st until the 12th of July, TYPA Gallery is being transformed into a linocut workshop. We are open to teach you all the tricks from Wed-Sun, from 12.00-18.00!

Our team will prepare the design – a picture of the beloved Emajõgi river – and transfer it onto a long piece of linoleum. The task for the participants is to carve along the pre-existing lines, making it possible to print the linocut later.

All the tools, instructions and necessary guidance from our team members will be available on the spot, any time within the opening hours of the museum. You can come alone, with your family or with your friends, you can use it as an opportunity to explore the technique, to have fun using your creativity or simply to socialize. What matters most is that we do it together!

Participating in the project is free of charge, requires no registration and no previous experience. We welcome everyone who would like to try it out!

NB! Linocutting knives might be difficult to use for small kids, so there will be other activities prepared for them. Older kids are invited to join the collaborative project, however, we’ll ask participants under the age of 13 to come together with a guardian.

Be sure not to miss the bus printing day and the other events we are preparing for you!  Check out the PRESSFEST schedule here!
