Scrap Night vol. 21: scrap notebook
Thank you to everyone who came to celebrate our anniversary last time! It was a blast to experiment with paper clay with such a lovely crowd!
Our next event will take place on Wednesday 29th of April at 5:30 PM! And we are starting off our second year of scrap making with scrap notebooks (again).
Scrap Nights were made with love for recycling in mind and so this time we are even recycling one of our themes. Last year’s notebook workshop was amazingly crowded and exciting, why not bring it back again!
Besides printing and paper, TYPA deals a lot with bookbinding as well, whether it be by making stationary items for our museum shop or binding letter-pressed books by hand or with old binding machines. But binding doesn’t have to be fancy and could be done with just scraps as well! Gather together some old illustrations, inspiring text and an array of funky papers and use leftover thread to sow it all together. Give your notebook an encouraging theme or just keep it plain, write or draw or junk journal in it – that is all up to you! We will help you on the spot with some simple binding techniques, but you can come and experiment with more complicated ones or make up your own! Come and get creative with your scrap notebooks!
The events are our voluntary project, started by TYPA’s previous ESC volunteer Asia and education manager Karoliina. The aim of this is to reduce the leftover scrap waste we have at TYPA.
Due to the rising prices of snacks there will be a symbolic fee of 1 euro so everybody could have a sweet treat to keep up the mood 🙂
No registration is required.
The first rule of Scrap Club is to have fun and be yourself <3
