Tartu Illustration Festival programme at TYPA

Tartu Illustration festival TIF is happening once again. We at TYPA are offering activities both in and outside of our museum, on the 4th of October in collaboration with TIF.

From 10am-1pm, at TYPA’s classroom, TIF invites you to a workshop, that invites participants to explore personal memory through sensory reflection and creative zine-making.

From 1pm-3pm at the Kolm Tilli greenhouse, you will have a chance to print a postcard on our copy press. Printing a postcard costs 2€.

The afternoon will be concluded by a museum tour back at our museum, at 2:30pm. During the tour you’ll learn about the journey of paper from China to Estonia, the birth of printing in Europe, and see their wood and lead type collections. You’ll hear about different printing presses and bookbinding techniques, and get to try papermaking and printing yourself, while seeing several antique machines in action.
