Ecological darkroom developing course with Joonas Ahtikallio
In this innovative photography course, participants will explore the basics of plant-based analogue photography. You will learn how to make images with plant based developers.
Joonas Ahtikallio teaches the basics of making plant based developers and tells about his working methods. The concept of the course also goes further to understand the relationship between man and nature, and investigate the connection between art and nature. The course is suitable for photographers from different backgrounds, the basics of darkroom work is useful but not necessary.
The activities will include an introduction to the topic and analogue darkroom developing demonstration.
Duration: 6 h + lunch break

This event is part of the international art and science initiative ‘Look into my Ice’. ‘Look into my Ice’ is a romantic initiative to enhance our emotions towards the coldest entity on Earth: Ice. The transeuropean project is part of the official program of the European Capital of Culture Tartu 2024 and offers new ways to approach the disastrous speed of the disappearance of polar and glacial ice as a result of the human made climate crisis.
