Calligraphy workshop with Julia Pastsuk

TYPA is running a calligraphy workshop on January 22nd. During the six hour workshop, participants will practice creating letters and the principals of calligraphy. By the end of the day, all participants have created a composition with their favourite sentence. Everyone can take their brush-pencils, used in the workshop, home to keep practicing the art of calligraphy.

Julia Pastsuk graduated from Tartu Art School in 2018. as a decorator-stylist. She had a first brief contact with calligraphy during her studies but never really got into it. After receiving water color brushes as a present she decided to try not only painting with these, but also writing. Now she is doing calligraphy on a daily basis. She finds it important to first understand the structure of a letter and is inspired by a challenge that every word brings, and that challenge changes when you pick up a different tool for writing.
