Many Karlova residents have already noticed that Kesk Street has a new wall painting that awakens one from routine thoughts with its vivid colors and abstract nature. The author of the painting is the Finnish street artist Jesse Pasanen who talks about the Kesk Street painting, other art works made in Tartu and his works in general on the 25th of April at 7 pm in Barlova, Karlova’s local bar. Barlova is located on the Tähe street 29.
Prior to the talk with the artist, a tour will take visitors to his paintings on Kesk ja Õnne streets. The gathering will take place in front of Barlova at 7 pm from where the tour starts. After the tour we will return to Barlova for the artist talk.
Jesse is from Vantaa where, in addition to painting, he also engages in graphical design and street art projects. His inspiration for painting on the streets came from the grayish streets of Vantaa. By today, Vantaa and other Finnish cities are being filled with professional street art that has an extraordinary impact on the cityscape in general.
The artist is totally captivated by Tartu’s charm – its people, places and the general city vibe. All those interested are welcome to come and talk to Jesse about street art and future projects in Vantaa and Tartu.
The discussion will be held in English.
