From May 18 is open the exhibition of the works sent to the linocut competition at the Estonian Print and Paper Museum Gallery!
Already the third time this decade the Print and Paper Museum organized an international linocut competition to popularize the linocut technique. A total of about 8 kg worth of works came from Estonia, New Zealand, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Poland, Finland, Romania and other countries. The competition accepts works from both beginners and advanced participants, from children and adults.
Winners of the competition will be declared online on June 28. You too can contribute to this selection! This is because winners will be declared in three categories:
1. Facebook Audience Favorite
2. Print and Paper Museum Team Favorite
3. Artists’ Jury Favorite
After the exhibition opening we will unveil on the museum’s Facebook page a photo album of the works sent to the competition and there you can vote for your favorite(s). The Facebook Audience Favorite award goes to the work that collects the most ‘likes’.
The artists jury consists of last year’s linocut competition winners Toomas Kuusing, Cristo Madissoo and Bob Sparham.
The exhibition is open until June 22 at the Print and Paper Museum Gallery at Kastani 48f. The museum and gallery are open from Wed to Sun and between 12 am and 6 pm.
The linocut competition prize fund is supported by Raamikoda, Snitty OÜ, ToolTrade Baltic OÜ and Studio Tartuensis.
