TYPA ResidencyArtist in residence

After three months spent in Tartu, Eeva-Kaisa Jakkila and Jussi Valtakari are sharing their work with the public. Last Thursday (24.01.2013) saw the official opening of their exhibition in Tampere Maja, Tartu.

Eeva-Kaisa Jakkila created inspiring paintings about nature, describing its remaining beauty in a world full of greed and indifference. For this purpose, the artist used the watercolor technique, which transparency is particularly suitable to represent nature.

Jussi Valtakari uses in his work paint, silicone and wood. He was inspired by memory images and by the different ways in which something can be remembered. Each individual has their own point of view and, consequently, their memories. The artist was influenced by the events and changes in the environment.

Tampere Hall Gallery is open every day from 9 to 18. The entrance to the exhibition is free! You are welcome!
