Andrew Armstrong, an American artist currently living in Paris, spent a month in the Printing Museum in June 2012. Originally from Charleston, Illinois, Andrew studied art history and experimental sound at the School of the Art Institute in Chicago, graduating with an MFA in 2009.

After a visit to Tartu and the Printing Museum in 2011, Andy chose the city again as a place from which to draw inspiration for new artwork. Though trained in sound art, he splits his time between drawing, recording sound, and making music. The residency in the Printing Museum gave him the chance to work in printmaking for the first time. Andy drew inspiration from daily occurrences and observations to create surreal images, culminating in an exhibition of around twenty prints and drawings.
