Tiny guilding press, weighing just a few dozen kilograms is made in Germany, Leipzig in Chn. Mansfeld factory and it bears a serial number 77804. Guilding press was used to press golden, silver or other color ornaments to book covers or other printed items.The exact time of manufacturing of this press is unknown, but probably it was made latest in the beginning of the 20th century.
