Tania Bàkum on multidistsiplinaarne kunstnik Ukrainast Pereiaslavist. Oma loomingus kombineerib ta fotograafiat, performance’it ja tekstiilikunsti. Ta eksperimenteerib materjalidega, segades traditsioonilisi ja innovatiivseid tehnikaid. Oma teostesse kaasab ta tihti hävinemise ja materiaalse transformatsiooni protsesse.
Tania tegeleb oma loomingus põlvkonnasisese trauma, feminismi ja sotsiaalsete tabudega ja käsitleb Ukrainas toimuvatt sõda. Ta on osalenud Ukrainas näitustel ja residentuurides ning on Gdanski Kultuuristipendiumi lauraat.
Tania viibis TYPAs residentuurkunstnikuna perioodil jaanuar-veebruar 2026.
Residentuuri ajal avas ta koos kaas-residentuurkunstniku, Nelly Toussaint’iga Rõdugaleriis duonäituse “Embrace and Dance”. Näitus oli nende residentuuri iseloomustav mantra. Loomisprotsessides ei läinud kõik plaani pidi, ja loomulikult ei olnud ka kõik tööd nii ideaalsed kui oleks soovitud. Tasakaalu hoidmine ning vigadega leppimine oli sel puhul oluline oskus. Nad töötasid täiel raual, samas aktsepteerides ideede ebatäpsusi nende ilmudes. Ning peale seda, nad tantsisid, õnnelikud, et nende tööd on “piisavad”.
“Embrace and Dance” jutustas loo oskusest hoida tasakaalu ootuste ja tegelikkuse vahel, ning töö jätkamist, isegi kui mängu tulevad ebatäpsused ning vead. Näitus oli Rõdugaleriis avatud perioodil 13.02-01.03.2026.
Lisaks viis Tania 14. veebruaril läbi töötoa, kus tutvustas osalejatele tsüanotüüpia ehk sinitrükki ilmutamist klaasile.
Enda residentuuri kohta kirjutab kunstnik:
“I was in Estonia for the first time, and I’m deeply grateful to LOORE and TYPA for this opportunity. I spent two wonderful months working in the studio. But first of all, I’d like to say a few words about the city itself. I was very lucky to live right in the city center, and I have to mention that the half-hour walk to the workshop felt like a real adventure every single day. I was there during a very snowy period, and the beauty of the parks, the architecture, and the birdsong touched my soul each time. I had 24/7 access to the workshop, which made my work much easier—I could structure my schedule independently. I would also like to sincerely thank the entire TYPA team: they supported me with every question I had, were incredibly friendly, and we even spent several evenings together outside the workshop. I truly appreciated the freedom I had while working on my project. I never felt any pressure, and I believe this was a key factor in the successful realization of my idea.
Now, a month later, reflecting on my experience at TYPA, I can say it was a unique and almost magical journey. I was captivated by the beauty of the city, warmly welcomed by the TYPA team, and able to create a work that I presented at the final exhibition of the residency. Once again, I am deeply grateful to the whole team for this incredible experience.”
