Fancy experiencing all that TYPA Centre has to offer from the comfort of your own sofa? Sit back, and TYPA will take you on a journey into the history of paper and print.
Our one-on-one guide will take you through the history of communication – from the birth of paper to the development of bookbinding across the world. Starting in our unique paper kitchen, you will witness the process of papermaking from plant to sheet, and even though you may not be able to make paper or print through the computer screen, but our helpful guide will instruct you on how these techniques can be done at home. During this fully interactive tour, you will be able to ask any questions and get a unique chance to interact fully with our knowledgeable guides – who will demonstrate our machines and equipment in action.
Every item in TYPA’s collection is kept in a working condition, so visitors will be able to witness our machinery in action – our automated printing presses and operational Linotype machine. It is an excellent activity for families, as tours are educational and engaging for children and parents.
