Come and try an exciting printmaking technique called drypoint!
Drypoint is one of the simplest printing techniques, where the image is scratched onto the plate with a pointed “needle”. The furrows are filled with a special ink and the impression is printed on a paper with an intaglio printing press. Grab a design and come try drypoint with a plastic plate!
When planning a design, we recommend keeping in mind that drypoint is primarily a line-based printing technique, which is why it is more difficult for beginners to achieve large, even surfaces. Keep the design rather small, about 10 x 15 cm in size, so that the process does not become too long and tiring.
