TYPA is open to visitors Wed–Sun 12:00–18:00. Full-price ticket: €13, discount ticket: €7. Guided tours start at every hour. With Estonian Museum Card you can visit TYPA for free!
The ticket includes a guided tour of the museum. During the visit, you will learn the story of the birth of printing in Europe, get to see our collection of wooden and tin types, and hear about different printing presses and the art of binding.
Tours start every hour, the last tour starts at 5pm. If you wish to have a tour in Ukrainian or Russian, please contact us in advance.
We can also admit groups of visitors outside normal opening hours, including during evenings. If you are planning a group visit, please book the visit in advance by contacting us at typa@typa.ee.
In our museum gallery, we regularly hold exhibitions from a variety of international artists and of collections from various museums. The gallery can be visited free of charge.

TYPA is located in Kastani 48f, Tartu, in the courtyard behind Samelin boot factory. Parking is for free next to the building or in the public parking lot next to Aparaaditehas’ culture factory.

Maintaining the old printing presses is not easy – they need warmth and light, tender love and care and a lot of oil. We offer both private persons as well as businesses the unique opportunity to support the maintaining and preserving the historical heritage of printing, adopting some of the machines in our collection.
