TYPA's Linocut Contest is an annual event that celebrates printmakers from Estonia and all over the world. This year, additionally to Estonian Book Year, we are also celebrating the 10th year of TYPA's annual Linocut Contest. And instead of going big, we are going small!
The theme of 2025 is "ex libris". Works can be submitted until 8th of April 2025.
The aim of the Linocut Contest, organized by TYPA, is to promote original artwork in linocut printmaking to new audiences. TYPA’s Linocut Contest is a yearly event, celebrating Estonian and international printmakers of all ages. Every year we invite artists from all over to take part by submitting their linocut printed artworks into our exhibition. The exhibition is also accompanied by a series of workshops, held at TYPA.
The 2025 exhibition will take place from the 8th of May until the 29th of June.
The theme of 2025 is “ex libris“.
This year, Estonia celebrates the Year of the Book, and TYPA has chosen Ex Libris for the theme of its annual contest. Latin for “from the books” or “from the library,” Ex Libris refers to decorative or printed labels placed inside books to show ownership. These often feature motifs that characterise the person or facility. Ex Libris usually include the owner’s name with the inscription.
