Guilding press (model BW) was made at the end of the 19th century or at the beginning of 20th century in Karl Krause's factory - one of the biggest print and binding equipment manufacturer of its time in Europe. TYPA got the press from an old print house in Tallinn. Although the press itself is 100 years old, it has a thermostat and an electrical heating device added during the Soviet time. Guilding press was used to press golden, silver or other color ornaments to book covers or other printed items. This guilding press is used time to time also in TYPA for the same purpose.
