Merike Tamm’s gothic calligraphy course

Step into the world of gothic script!

This course is meant for everyone wishing to explore the beauty of gothic script aka blackletter. During the course we will learn about the history of the gothic script and the different forms it can take. We will be practicing writing the letters and get to know the various tools and techniques used to make them. By the end of the course you will have sound knowledge to write blackletter by yourself and to present it with pride.

The course takes place on the 8th and 29th of November, from 12.00-15.00, at TYPA centre!

Merike Tamm is an alumni of Tartu Art School and the Pallas University of Applied Sciences in Tartu, where she studied graphic design. She continued her studies in the master’s program for art education at the University of Tartu. In addition to working as a calligrapher at the University of Tartu, she also teaches calligraphy courses. She is a lettering artist who enjoys sharing her knowledge of calligraphy practice and the application of hand-written letter designs in various graphic works.
