Calligraphy workshop with Julia Pastsukiga

To replace the cancelled workshop in January ,TYPA is now running a calligraphy workshop on 2 weekends, both on February 12th and Febraury 19th – just pick a date that suits you the best!

During the six hour workshop, participants will practice creating letters and the principals of calligraphy. By the end of the day, all participants have created a composition with their favourite sentence. Everyone can take their brush-pencils, used in the workshop, home to keep practicing the art of calligraphy.

Julia Pastsuk graduated from Tartu Art School in 2018. as a decorator-stylist. She had a first brief contact with calligraphy during her studies but never really got into it. After receiving water color brushes as a present she decided to try not only painting with these, but also writing. Now she is doing calligraphy on a daily basis. She finds it important to first understand the structure of a letter and is inspired by a challenge that every word brings, and that challenge changes when you pick up a different tool for writing.
