It’s once again autumn, which means it’s time for something new and exciting!
TYPA centre happily invites everyone to come participate in our regular workshops on Saturdays this autumn! Usually you can only order our workshops for groups but a few times a year an opportunity pops up to just register to one of our workshops. Take a friend along or come alone, no previous experience is needed for the workshops!
This time we will try our hand at cyanotype, paper making, printing on fabric and book creation!
The price for all four workshops is 45/30* euros.
The price for one workshop is 13/9* euros.
All workshops take place on Saturdays, at TYPA centre, from 12pm-1:30pm.
Read more about the individual workshops down here!
We will begin our Workshop Bites series on the 27th September, on World Cyanotype Day with, of course, a cyanotype workshop. Cyanotype is one of the oldest photographic rinting methods and it was also used to make the very first photographic illustrations in books in the 19th century. If the weather allows it we will expose our prints and photos outside behind TYPA at Kastani community garden.

On 11th October you can make your own handmade paper from recycled paper and fabrics and decorate it with flowers, threads and little tidbits.

On Fenno-ugric Day, 18th October we have planned a print on fabric workshop with Fenno-ugric motifs. Take with you clothes or bags made of light natural fabrics (that are not too thick!) or buy some bags or T-shirts from us. Bags cost 5€ and T-shirts 10€ on the spot.

We will end our series of workshops on 25th October with “How is a book made?”. Made especially for the Estonian Book Year, this workshop introduces you to the world of handmade books, starting with making paper and ending with printing a headline.

See you at TYPA!
