\"\"<\/a><\/strong>Martin Klusa\u0301k is a Czech emerging composer and artist with a portfolio of internationally performed and awarded works. He focuses on experimental music in the context of concert, film, multimedia, and site-specific art. Currently he researches visual music, and possible links and crossovers between musical composition, film, theatre, and fine arts.<\/p>\n

In Tartu, Martin is going to work on his recent commissioned projects \u2013 two instrumental pieces that resonate with this year’s TAiR topic. Estonia, as well as the Czech Republic, formerly Czechoslovakia, celebrates the 100th anniversary of its independence this year. One of the projects Martin is going to work on in Tartu should reflect upon the Czechoslovakian anniversary, and is scheduled to be premiered in Prague in autumn 2018.<\/p>\n

However, the main reason, why Martin chose Tartu, are his current artistic inspirations in Estonian contemporary music and art. Composers, such as Erkki-Sven T\u00fc\u00fcr, Veljo Tormis, Arvo P\u00e4rt, or Lepo Sumera have a great influence on his current work. While in Tartu, Martin is looking forward not only to work on his projects, but also explore more Estonian music, get in touch with the visual arts community in Tartu, and in general, get a sensation of Estonian visual culture, which still stays unexplored to Martin.<\/p>\n

Martin graduated at the Film School and the Music School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (MA degree \u2013 sound design, MA degree – composition), where he currently studies the Ph.D. degree of composition.<\/p>\n
