On December 16th at 18.00 we invite you to the opening of Stephen Parks’ exhibition, “Kokkup\u00f5rke rada\/Collision Path \u2014 Not For Words” at R\u00f5dugalerii, Tartu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Kokkup\u00f5rke Rada\/Collision Path” is a book that explores motifs of belief systems and their embeddedness in communities to foster reassurance, well-being, and awareness. The work explores a journey in the process of designing meaning, both individually and collectively, and how popular beliefs are systems of navigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project is inspired by a German school of philosophy pioneered by Friedrich Schelling, who encouraged the idea that nature is one with spirit. The term collision path refers to the cultural similarities between the Appalachian Region in the United States and Estonia. Composite images of offerings, community, natural patterns, and site-specific locations build on the meaning of correlation through dissected language. What happens when spirit, nature, and event share a moment?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

R\u00f5dugalerii is located in the courtyard of Aparaaditehas, Kastani 42, from door nr 7 on the second floor. Gallery is open from Wed-Sun, 12.00-18.00.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stephen Parks is a designer, artist, and educator working in Deep Gap, North Carolina, U.S. Parks\u2019 self-publishes under the moniker Constant Ritual. Constant Ritual is a small collaborative studio meeting writers, designers, and artists at the intersection of printed matter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Parks’ design research spans the investigation of whole earth systems and our embedded social intimacy with these topics.
