On the 9th of July, at 18:00 we are opening a new exhibition in Balcony Gallery! \u201cPlease Recycle\u201d is the final project of Helsinki-based artist, Sasha Rotts, created during her three-month Typa residency in Tartu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Known for her recent explorations in textiles, Rotts returns to her printmaking roots in this exhibition at Balcony gallery\u2014this time using unconventional materials like Tetra Pak plates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her guiding principle, \u201cNo border in printmaking,\u201d resonates throughout the show. Blurring lines between mediums and methods, Rotts merges impressions gathered from Tartu with the fantastical creatures that inhabit her textile works. The result is a vivid and layered visual language: collages, gouache, watercolour, fragments of newspaper, and self-portraits all invite the viewer to look closer\u2014and look again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Entrance from door no. 7 from Aparaaditehas’ courtyard. It’s located right above Aparaat restaurant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exhibition is open until August 10th, from Wed-Sun, 12-6pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sasha’s residency was supported by the Nordic-Baltic Funding for artist residencies, from The <\/em>Nordic-Baltic Mobility Programme for Culture.
