{"id":18663,"date":"2026-08-15T16:46:44","date_gmt":"2026-08-15T16:46:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/typa.ee\/?post_type=event&#038;p=18663"},"modified":"2026-08-15T16:46:46","modified_gmt":"2026-08-15T16:46:46","slug":"pressfest-squeezing-workshop-with-pavel-rotts","status":"publish","type":"event","link":"https:\/\/typa.ee\/en\/event\/pressfest-squeezing-workshop-with-pavel-rotts\/","title":{"rendered":"PRESSFEST: Squeezing workshop with Pavel Rotts"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong><em>Squeezing<\/em><\/strong><strong> &#8211; workshop with Pavel Rotts<\/strong><strong><br><\/strong>Location: TYPA centre, Kastani 48f, Tartu<br>Time: 29.08.2026, 16.00 &#8211; 18.00<br>Instructor: Pavel Rotts<br>With registration, free of charge!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>On August 29th at 16.00 we invite you to come and learn a new creative method of interacting with the city and its surfaces!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the workshop, each participant will first make their own paper and then go explore the area surrounding TYPA to try the technique of <em>squeezes <\/em>through a truly hands-on experience.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Squeezing<\/em> is an archeological method of gathering data from the environment &#8211; its main principle is using a hand-made paper sheet to carefully copy textures from buildings, pavements, statues or any other objects of historical importance. It\u2019s a practice that enhances mindfulness and helps to build an authentic relationship with the surrounding. The workshop will be conducted by Pavel Rotts, TYPAs artist in residence, as part of his artistic research connected to the residency.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The workshop is suitable for participants over the age of 12 and will be conducted in English!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The workshop is free of charge, but places are limited.<a href=\"https:\/\/fienta.com\/pressfest-squeezing\"><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-green-cyan-color\"> You can register yourself to the workshop via Fienta!<\/mark><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About the artist<\/strong><br>Pavel Rotts (born 1982) is a Helsinki based artist, part of the SASHAPASHA artistic duo.
